Description:Responsible for designing and developing unique product solutions to identified problems or needs in support of the organization’s objective of inspiring woodworkers through innovation. The ideal candidate demonstrates creative problem solving skills, is detail oriented and has a strong mechanical aptitude
Duties:Design and develop a continuous flow of new products to meet the strategic goals of the organization. Responsible for managing multiple projects/products simultaneously. Coordinates with internal and external resources in the development process to ensure projects are completed on time and meet desired requirements. Ensures the design and manufacturing quality standards are aligned to the brand position. Manages products through all stages of development – idea creation, concept, solid modeling, design specification, sourcing, packaging creation and product presentation. Assists the Product Development Coordinator in the execution of product introduction in all channels – retail, catalog and internet. Other duties as directed
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/ Product Design SolidWorks experience – solid modeling and part drawing creation Able to work in a team atmosphere Good foundation in materials and manufacturing processes Ability to organize and manage multiple projects 1 to 4 years experience with consumer product design Prior experience in R&D of woodworking products preferred Knowledge of and experience in Stage-Gate processes are desired Great team collaborator, but also excels independently with limited supervision Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SolidWorks
